Yasmin Fay Pruitt-King, 57, went to her eternal home on Monday September 30, 2013, with family members by her bed side at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, MI., after an extended illness. Yasmin attended school in Freeport, Illinois and worked for Micro Switch in Freeport before relocating to Detroit, MI. while in Detroit she was employed by the state of Michigan as a toll booth operator on the border of Michigan and Canada before becoming ill. She was born to Vera and the late Thomas Pruitt on April 12, 1956, in Freeport. She leaves to cherish her memories with husband, Sammie King of Detroit; mother, Vera Allyson of Freeport; daughter, Demarian (Derrick) Fletcher; two sons, Anthony Pruitt, Jermaine Moss; four grandchildren, Jevar Pruitt, Derrick Jevon Fletcher, Jessica Marie Fletcher and Briana Alexis Fletcher all of Dearborn,MI,; two sisters, Tamilla (Rickey) Stidman, Lynette Gossett; eight brothers, Garland (Loretta) Pruitt of Freeport, Eric (Prose) Vonzell of Zion, Kerry, Randall Pruitt of Freeport, Maurice Pruitt of Aurora, CO., Phelix (Felicia) Pruitt, Andre (Algina) Pruitt, Julius Pruitt; step-mother, Katie Pruitt; three step-sisters, Gloria Fane, Helen Felton, and Evelyn Boyett of Freeport; three step-brothers, Frankie (Jean) Williams of Baltimore, MD, Kenneth (Teresa) Felton, Alvin Felton all of Freeport; two aunts, Gracie Suggs of Freeport, Willie Mae (Clint) Lenior; one uncle, Rev. James (Ola) Pruitt of Aurora, CO. Also surviving is a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding Yasmin in death were her father, grandparents, two sisters, one step-sister and tow step-brothers. Memorial services will be held Saturday October 5, 2013 at McFarland Foss Funeral Home (www.mcfarlandfoss.com) in Dearborn, Michigan. Committal service will be held in Freeport on Saturday October 12, 2013. Burke Tubbs is assisting family with local arrangements.
