William John Forsythe, 84, of Freeport, died Tuesday at Provena St. Joseph Center in Freeport. William was born August 22, 1926 in Mt. Sterling, Illinois, the son of John and Ruth (McClellan) Forsythe. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Pauline 'Polly' Ross on January 31, 1953 in Freeport. William was employed by Henney Farms for 30 years and then later by Lincoln Towers. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Survivors include; his wife, one son Jeffrey Forsythe of Rockford, one sister, Carol Haywood of Rushville, Illinois and two grandsons; Jonathon Forsythe and Jared Forsythe both of Freeport. Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and one son David who died October 29, 1991. Funeral Services will be Friday 11:00 A.M. in Chapel of Peace at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Willis Schwichtenberg and Rev. Richard 'Ros' Schultz officiating.
