William Eddie Brown

William Eddie Brown, 93, of Freeport, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Stephenson Nursing Center. Willie was born on February 14, 1922 in West, Mississippi, the son of Robert and Maggie (Brown) Stewart. Willie served for the U.S. Army in World War II earning a Victory Medal. He was a member of First Church of God. He worked as a cab driver for many years. Surviving are daughter, Clara Lousie Greer of Indianapolis, Indiana; three brothers, John (Mahalia) Guess of Freeport, Albert (Eula) Guess of Freeport and Joshua Guess of Perris, California; one sister, Iola Carter of Mississippi; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. William was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at First Church of God.
