William E. Hopkins

William E. Hopkins, 76, of Freeport, died Sunday March 3, 2013 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 18, 1936 in Chicago, Il, the son of Oscar and Ola Mae (Bonds) Hopkins. William married Shirley Law on August 4, 1979 in Chicago, Il. He worked for Campbells Soup Company in Chicago for 30 years; and also served in the U.S Army. He enjoyed to fish, and was an antique collector. William is survived by his wife Shirley Hopkins of Freeport, IL; two sons James Robinson, Jr. of Minneapolis, MN and William Hopkins, Jr. of New York, NY; his daughter Trent Nicole (Stanley0 Jackson of Chicago, IL; his sister Ruth Mae Hopkins of Madison, WI; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Delores Wright. Family funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday March 16, 2013 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport.
