William "Billy" Theodore Stauffer

William 'Billy' Theodore Stauffer, JR., 52, of Freeport, died Wednesday October 5, 2011 in his home. He was born on April 27, 1959 in Freeport, IL, the son of William Sr. and Sharon (Wilson) Stauffer. William graduated from Aquin High School in 1977; worked for the Illinois Central Railroad and later for Renaissance Restoration Incorporated; He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport; he was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan; and enjoyed golfing. William is survived by his parents William 'Smokey' and Sharon Stauffer of Freeport, IL; his daughter Christine Marie (Adam) Wiederholtz of Freeport, IL; his sister Joann Ellen Stauffer of St. Louis, MO; his niece and nephew Kaleigh and Zachary both of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren Phoenix and Dillon; and his girlfriend Rhonda Keeney of Freeport, IL. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Leo and Rose Stauffer and John and Agnes Wilson; several uncles; and one aunt. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday October 10, 2011 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Art Mallari officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Aquin Central Catholic High School.
