William "Bill" Plambeck, 57, of Forreston, died at home after a brief battle of cancer on October 23, 2016. Born November 4, 1958 in Freeport, he was the son of Clarence and Shirley (Dodson) Plambeck. Bill married his loving wife Lauri (Greenfield) on October 1, 1983. Throughout his careers, Bill's work ethic was driven by his remarkable optimistic outlook on life. Bill had a selfless personality that focused on making others feel special. His kindness, support, and good humor touched everyone he met. Faith, family, and friendship meant the most. Bill is survived by: his wife, sons Joseph (Jessie Shippert), Stephen, and Mitchell, brother Mike (Harry Sutton), sister Marcia Church, grandchildren Dean and Korah, sister-in-laws Sandy (Bill) Williams and Cathy Schmidt, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brother-in-laws Bill Church and Steven Schmidt. Being an active member, the funeral will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday October 29, 2016 at Forreston Grove Presbyterian Church (7246 N. Freeport Rd.) with pastor Drew Jones Officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in FREEPORT. Cremation rights have been accorded. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date.
