Wendy Louise Heyden

December 10, 1948 — October 25, 2020

Wendy Louise Heyden, 71, of Orangeville, Il, died Sunday October 25, 2020. She was born December 10, 1948, in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Harold and Marion (Adams) Fluegel. She was a 1966 graduate of Freeport High School and a 1967 graduate of La Molo School of Beauty Culture. Wendy worked at Orangeville High School, Malcom Eaton Enterprises, and Presence/Provena St. Joseph Center. She spent her life taking care of others and it wasn't uncommon for her to provide a holiday dinner to those without families. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, and gardening. Her homemade gifts were treasured and always beautifully wrapped, almost too beautiful to open. She was a loyal Green Bay Packer Fan and was thrilled with the opportunity to take a private tour Lambeau Field and attend spring training. Wendy is survived by her two daughters, Tammy Heyden (Tom Gehant) of Caledonia, IL and Christine Heyden of Davis, IL; two stepsons, Kenny Bissell of Freeport, IL and Steve (Garilynn) Bissell of Orangeville, IL; brother, John (Kay) Fluegel of Freeport, IL; two grandchildren, Tyler and Shelby McAnally; three great-grandchildren, Walter Jansen, and Scarlet and Liam Rodriguez; and several nieces and nephews. Her beloved and loyal dog Sophie misses her dearly. Wendy was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elane. Due to the Covid 19 Pandemic restrictions a private family service will be held. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. In lieu of flowers or a memorial, the family would greatly appreciate a donation to your favorite charity in Wendy's name.
