Wayne "Bill" K. Nesemeyer, 81, of Freeport, died Tuesday February 10, 2015 at F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. Bill was born on February 13, 1933 in Freeport, the son of Walter and Vera (Griffin) Nesemeyer. On December 18, 1954 Bill married Carol Albrecht in Freeport. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. For 12 years Bill farmed for the Stephenson County Farm and then later farmed the Freeport area. He also was a hail adjuster for Country Companies. Bill was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church and the Stephenson County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed following all of this grandchildren's sporting events. Bill loved farming and most of all, his family. The family would like to give special thanks for Dr. Terry Miller and Sarah Mock for the excellent care they gave Bill. Surviving are his wife, Carol Nesemeyer of Freeport; daughters, Gayle Whittenberg of Billings, Montana, Wendy (Ben) Boals of Orangeville and Suzanne (Robert) Kluck of Freeport; brother, Lyle "Jim" (Marlene) Nesemeyer of Freeport; seven grandchildren, Jacob Whittenberg (Tara), Jon (Beth Howard) Whittenberg, Chad Bicker, Erin (Bryan Smital) Turrell, Taryn Boals, Cody Boals, and Katie Boals. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Lula Whittenberg, Chloe Bicker, Gracin Bicker, Emmett Bicker, Easton Turrell and Oliver Whittenberg. Mr. Nesemeyer was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Florence United Methodist Church. Pastor Kathleen Brinkmeier will officiate. Visitation will be Friday 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial has been established in Bill's memory.
