Warren F. Hale

Warren F. Hale, Jr., age 53, of Gurnee, IL, recently of Buffalo, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 23, 2010, in Buffalo, New York. Warren was born on May 4, 1957, in Chicago, IL; graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL, in 1979; received his Masters Degree of Counseling and Student Affairs from Western Illinois University in 1981; and married Christi Dahms on June 14, 1984. Currently he was employed as the Administrative Director of Residential Housing, Apartments, and Student Complexes at the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY, which is the largest University in the SUNY Systems. He attended St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee, IL; was Youth Hockey Coach in Minnesota, Alabama, New York, and Illinois; was a member of the National Youth Hockey Association and ACUHO; and belonged to several other professional university associations. Over the years, Warren has helped many students with housing, books, and financial aid and has even sent students on mission trips paying for them anonymously out of his own pocket. He was also a volunteer Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his wife, Christi; his son, Tyler, and daughter, Barret, who are both at home; one brother, Richard (Cathy) Hale of Elk Grove, IL; three sisters: Louise (Greg) Schwarz of Springfield, IL, Trudy (Dave) Delhey of Atlanta, GA, and Betty Hale of Chicago, IL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and four God children. He was preceded in death by one son, Cody, on November 21, 2005, and his parents, Warren and Phyllis Hale. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 5:00-8:00pm at the Salata Funeral Home of Gurnee, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee, IL and again on Friday, December 31, 2010, from 9:00-10:00am at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee, IL with mass of Christian burial at 10:00am. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport, IL, with a graveside service at 2:30pm. Donations to the family will be appreciated.
