Virginia Mae Phillips, 89, of Freeport, died Monday January 23, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Virginia was born on January 29, 1922, in Davis, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar P. and Stella (Everson) Glaim. Virginia was a homemaker, she also worked as a secretary and a bookkeeper at Burgess Battery and was a bookkeeper at Economy Insurance. Virginia was a member of First United Methodist Church in Freeport. She was on the adult choir and was a member of the U.M.W. at Church. She was also a Lincolnaires. Survivors include son; Larry Phillips of Freeport, daughter; Sherry (James) Callaway of Lanark, nephew; Robert Glaim of Rockford, three grandchildren; Kelly (Todd) Bradford of Zionsville, Indiana, Mark Callaway of Quincy, Illinois and Todd (Gina) Callaway of Plainfield, Illinois, two great grandchildren; Tess Bradford and Carter Callaway. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and brother; Gerald. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday January 26, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Katherine Thomas Paisley officiating. Visitation will be From 10 A.M. until the time of service Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
