Virginia M. Keister

Virginia M. Keister, 76, of Freeport, died Friday January 9, 2015 in her home. She was born May 27, 1938 in Rock Grove, IL, the daughter of John and Rose Irene (Passet) Veach. She married Robert Keister December 21, 1957 in Freeport, IL. Virginia was a 1957 graduate of Dakota High School. She worked at Burgess Battery for 20 years and Newell for 25 years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, which was very important to her. She volunteered at FHN Memorial Hospital, FACC, Meals on Wheels, and at her church. She enjoyed mowing and working outside. Virginia is survived by her husband Robert Keister of Freeport, IL; her daughter Joy Lynn (Douglas) Zorzi of Kissimmee, FL; her brother Albert (Grace) Veach of Glen Burnie, MD; her sister Helen Conklin of Smithtown, NY; three grandchildren Dan, Ami, and Shawn; and six great-grandchildren Dennis, Jaxson, Jaelynn, Drayden, Christopher, and Gavin. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday January 16, 2015 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Luepke officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. also at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
