Virginia M. Kanker

Virginia M. Kanker, 94, of Freeport, died Sunday March 18, 2012 at Parkview Home in Freeport. She was born on October 14, 1917 in Freeport, Il, the daughter of Daniel and Theresa (Reese) Desmond. Virginia married John Kanker on June 20, 1944 in Freeport, IL; John died on June 2, 2005. Virginia worked for Economy Insurance Company for several years. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary'™s Catholic Church. Virginia is survived by several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday May 3, 2012 at St. Mary'™s Catholic Church in Freeport, with Father Timothy Barr officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of mass.
