Virginia Fransen

Virginia M. Fransen, 87 of Freeport, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Born on April 28, 1923 in Freeport, the daughter of Edward and Viola (Briggs) Pentifcoff. Virginia worked at Burgess Battery for ten years. She married Herman Fransen on October 25, 1947 in Freeport, He died on February 13, 1977. Virginia enjoyed gardening, crafts and crocheting. Survivors include one son Gene (Patricia) Seuring of Rockford; four grandchildren, Douglas (Sue) Seuring of Indianapolis, IN., Michael (Jennifer) Seuring of Chicago, Wendy (Jon) Ralston of Princeton, NJ and Kathy (Brian) Holtze of Bartlett, IL; also eight grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, two sisters and one grandson Steven. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens 11 a.m. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Bill Blomberg will officiate.
