Vicky Lynn Van Raalte

Vicky Lynn Van Raalte, 69, of Shannon, IL, died Saturday November 28, in her daughter's home surrounded by family in Chadwick, IL. She was born September 6, 1946 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Donald and Virginia (Bender) Welch. She married Wayne Van Raalte, Sr. July 12, 1964 in Afolkey, IL. Vicky worked at Structo, Micro-Switch, and Tee Lee Popcorn. She enjoyed animals and collecting "teddybears", camping with family, caring for grandchildren, bingo, holiday fun with family, and watching the family tractors in parades. Vicky is survived by her husband Wayne Van Raalte, Sr. of Shannon, IL; her son Wayne (Kim) Van Raalte Jr. of Shannon, IL; two daughters Tami (Scott) Kevern of Monroe Center, IL and Lynn (Britten) Haight of Chadwick, IL; her sister Donna Welch of Freeport, IL; her grandchildren Devin (Sarah), Allie, Aaron (Katie), Angela (Carl), Kassey (Heath), Jeremy, Sterling, Taylor, Phoenix, and Brylee (Bissell); five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Danny; and her niece Joy. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday December 2, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, with Rev. Scott Kevern officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
