Vicki Jo Klug

VICKI JO (RIEK) KLUG Vicki J. Klug, age 73, of Freeport IL passed away on Friday evening, April 29, 2022 at SSM Health Hospice in Monroe WI. Vicki was born on February 16, 1949 in Richland Center WI to parents Victor & Armella Riek of Spring Green. Vicki worked for the State of Wisconsin Purchasing Department and UW Stout in Menomonie WI before moving to Freeport where she worked for MicroSwitch for more than 30 years. She loved working at the Humane Society garage sales, having & going to garage sales & auctions, adding to her many collections especially quilts & chenille bedspreads plus playing slot machines. She loved all animals and was a Green Bay Packers fan. Vicki is survived by 11 siblings: Sherryl (Dan) Cobb, Oregon WI; Carol (Ron) Haug, DeForest WI; Mary Schreiber, Centennial CO; Joanne (Don) Hover, Stoughton WI; Kathy Breunig, Sun Prairie WI; John Riek, Ft Atkinson WI; Karen (Steve) Day, Monona WI; Dale (Bonnie) Riek, Madison WI; Gary (Sandy) Riek, Madison WI; Suzanne (Rick) Schultz, Waukesha WI. Brian (Sunny) Riek, Richland Center WI as well as many nieces, nephews, former husband, Steve Klug, many feline friends she fostered over the years (including Blue & Feather) and her last, "Little Kitty", who she loved dearly and who has gone lovingly to best friend, Liz Palmer. Vicki was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Michael Schreiber. The family would like to thank SSM Health, Monroe WI for their wonderful care in the short time she with them. A celebration of Vicki's life will be held Saturday, July 30th at the Beltline Cafe, 325 W South Street in Freeport IL 61032 from Noon to 2PM.
