Veva Larita Manthei

Veva Larita Manthei, 94, of Forreston, died Monday October 12, 2015 in her home. She was born October 11, 1921 in Apple River, IL, the daughter of Harry C. and Mary Belle (Metcalf) Sigafus. She married Robert E. Manthei October 28, 1967; he preceded her in death on March 11, 2001. She was a member of Prairie Dell Presbyterian Church. Veva is survived by her three sons Edwin (Donna) Gollmer of Lanark, IL, Richard Gollmer of Forreston, IL, and Randy (Annette) Manthei of Kirkwood, IL; two daughters Diane Wubbena of phoenix, AZ and Diane (Roger) Meinen of Freeport, IL; her brother John Sigafus of Browntown, WI; eleven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers Charlie (Charlene) Sigafus, Earl (Paula) Sigafus, Gordon (Norma) Sigafus, Mike (Genevieve) Sigafus, and Richard (Carol) Sigafus; and five sisters Carol (Gary) Meier, Dolly (Paul) Siemens, Eleanor (Charles) Williams, Harriet (Ralph) Fryer, Helen (Gerald) Fox, and Violet (Lyle) Hammer. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 17, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
