Vanetia Brooks-Sodeinde

Vanetia Brooks-Sodeinde; went into the present of the Lord on February 28, 2014, surrounded by family and friend. She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Virgie (Ward) Brooks. Vanetia was born on September 13, 1958 in Chicago, IL, and grew up in Freeport, IL were she graduated in 1976 from Freeport Senor High School. She then attendance Morehouse School of Theology and earn a degree in Theology as well as Westwood College where attended for nursing. Vanetia lived her life in GA with husband Daniel Obioma, were she then owned and operated her own business for over 10 years. One of the most important things to Vanetia is her relationship with God, one that she chooses early on in her life. Vanetia leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter Catrece Smith and one son Ruben Smith III of Maywood IL, five grandchildren Tatiana, Alexis, Za-hne, Allen, and Jaelah Smith of Chicago. Eleven siblings Jessie (Helen) Brooks of Austell GA , John Wesley Brooks of Hammond IN, Otha (Minni) Brooks, Darrell Brooks, Dwayne Brooks, of Freeport IL, Isabel Parks of Freeport IL, Clara Flemming of Smyrna GA, Arichie Mae (Higgs) Brooks of Hammond IN, Darlean Brooks, Winona Euell, Vanessa (Robert) Brown, Wanda (Leon) Ishmon Brooks of Freeport IL and soul sister Tanya (Burkhart) Williams. A countless number of nieces, nephew, and cousins! Preceded in death by both her parents, four brothers and two sisters; James Wesley, James Henry, Robert, Stanley Brooks, Elizabeth Janice Brooks and Celestine Shipp. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday March 7, 2014 at New Jerusalem Church in Freeport, with Rev. Ezell Jackson officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service.
