Valerie Bardell

Valerie "Val" Bardell, 60, of Freeport, was reunited with her soulmate, Scott Bardell, on Monday, August 8, 2022. Val was born April 14, 1962, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Val provided home daycare for 37 years. She loved each and every kid she cared for as if they were one of her own. She loved working out and living a healthy lifestyle, spending much of her time at the gym. She began working at Freeport Health Club and worked there for many years. She loved training and helping others live their healthiest life. Val touched the hearts of countless lives. To know Val was to love her. She enjoyed gardening, doing yard work, and spending time outdoors. But above all else, spending time with her family brought her the most joy. Surviving is children, Tiffany (Jay) Marten, Troy (Abby Arachikavitz) Bardell, Tierra (Tim Cooper) Anderson, and Tannah (Jared Kubatzke) Bardell; grandchildren, Jordan Keyes, Max and Ellie Marten, Mya and Jayda Bardell, Alycia, Kahliya, and Layla Anderson, Arianna and TJ Cooper, and Aubree Celestino; with a special great-grandchild on the way. Also surviving is mother, Cleone McGinness; sisters, Liana Stinson, Melanie (Kevin) Newton-Burgess, and Jenel (Victor) Munoz; brothers, Jay (Bridget) McGinness, Jeriel (Kristy) McGinness, Barry Stinson, and Keith Stinson; and special friend, Bill Tillou. Val was preceded in death by her husband, Scott; father, J.B. McGinness; father-in-law, Wilbur Bardell; and Larry Maggard; and mother-in-law, Patsy Maggard. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Jeff White will officiate. Visitation 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday August 12, 2022, at Burke Tubbs. There will also be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time-of-service Saturday. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Val's memory.
