Twyla Ida Brandner

Twyla Ida Brandner, 88, of Freeport has gone to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday August 29, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born May 27, 1929 in Durand, IL the daughter of Conrad and Clara (Petitt) Wise. On April 18, 1958 she married Russel Lentz; he died March 23, 1976. She then married Henry Kuhlemeyer on April 9, 1977; he died on October 8, 1995 On November 15, 1997 she married Pastor John Brandner in Pontiac, IL. She was extremely proud to be a Gold Star Sister. Over the years she worked as a beautician, LPN, farmer and minister's wife. She attended Zion Church and was a former member of the Durand American Legion Auxiliary Post 676. Twyla enjoyed singing with the Joy Singers, participating in Christian Women Organizations activities, watching the Chicago Cubs and gardening. Surviving are her husband John Brandner of Freeport; step-son Terry Brandner of Oregon, IL; step-daughter Sandra Wilson of Anderson, SC; sister Joyce Sykes of Clarksville, AR; two sister-in-laws Reva Wise of Winnebago, IL and Laurena "Beannie" Wise of Beloit, WI; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. Twyla is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, four step-sons, five brothers: Carlyle, Gerald, Duane, Robert, and Lowell; two sister-in-laws Ruth and Neva; and one brother-in-law Ray. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday September 8, 2017 at Zion Church with Pastor Gardy Cronk officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
