Troy S. Elbert

Troy S. Elbert, 37, of Freeport, died Friday March 29, 2013 at saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was born on October 19, 1975 in Freeport, IL, the son of Joan Wescott. Troy was the owner of a food business. He enjoyed cooking and smoking meats. Troy was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. Troy is survived by his son Benjamin Elbert V and his sons mother Stephanie Pruitt of Lena, IL; his mother Joan (Benjamin IIII) Elbert of Shannon, IL; one brother Nate (Heather) Elbert of Machesney Park, IL; one sister Sarah Elbert of North Aurora, IL; aunts and uncles; and his cat Chicken Legs. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday April 3, 2013 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. Kelvin McGee officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
