Timothy E. Grandy 50, passed from our lives on October 16, 2014, at home after a battle with cancer. He was born March 9, 1964 to Emmett and Edna (Emory) Grandy in Forrest City, Arkansas. The Grandy family moved to Freeport in the early 1970's. Tim was an avid Bears and Bulls fan, but Lebron James was his guy on the courts. He would watch any UFC match that was on Television any time of day or night. He loved spending time with family and friends, his favorite was the BBQ gatherings. Above all in his life he valued every minute spent with his beloved son TJ, and fought long and hard to remain here for him. Watching him play football made him the proudest dad ever. He is survived by his son Timothy "TJ" Grandy; friend Betsy Damico; cousins Tony, Jamie, Terry, Tanya, Deb, Patty Seals and families, Bish, Dot Ishmon and families, Paulette Cooper and family, plus other cousins both in Freeport and Arkansas; special brothers from childhood Nate Allison and Billy Brooks; special friend George Ellis; plus many other friends. Even though Tim was a very private person he enjoyed the visits from his family and friends in his last days, it did mean a lot to him. You all can say one thing about him above all else, He was one of the last "100" guys around. Tim's final fight he had no chance of winning but fought hard and bravely to the end. He was my friend and I will truly miss him. There will be no visitation per his request. Private burial will be held at a later date. Thank you to Hospice. Special thank you to Dr. Sandra Jackson and Dee Hessenius, we could never have made it through this trying time without you two and I can't thank you enough for being there for Tim. Signed Betsy. RIP Poochie, you will be missed by many.
