Thomas William Joyce

Thomas William Joyce (1949-2019) passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 19, 2019 in his home in Rockford, IL. Born in Milwaukee, WI Tom was the son of Eugene and Jean (Fry) Joyce and grew up in Independence, IA and Freeport, IL. He was a 1968 graduate of Freeport High School. Tom is survived by his mother Jean, brothers Tim (Libby) of Charlotte NC, Bill (Mary) of St. Joseph, MN, Dan (Karen) of Newark, IL, sister Mary Jean (Rich) Adkins of East Dundee, IL, uncle Paul Fry, aunt Carolyn Levy, many cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends at Forest City Rehab in Rockford, IL where Tom lived for the past 27 years. Tom was preceded in death by his father. Despite a lifetime of challenges, Tom was extremely kind, creatively funny and showed an inner grit that was truly admirable. Private family services will be held Monday, December 23, 2019. Cremation rites have been accorded. Tom was a blessing to all who knew him. He will be sorely missed.
