Thomas G. Eberle

Thomas G. Eberle, 71, of Freeport died Saturday May 24, 2014 in his home. He was born September 23, 1942 in Freeport, the son of Robert P. and Edith (Bogenrief) Eberle. Mr. Eberle served with the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Mr. Eberle was employed by Hostess Company, Canteen-C.L. Swanson and then retired from Helsey Supply Company. He was a member of Eagle's Club 679, he enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, and animals. Tom enjoyed following his grandchildren's sporting events, attending car shows and car racing. Surviving are his partner of thirty years Janet Heffner, his daughter, Tanya (Dick) Wienand of Stockton. Two sisters: Marilyn (Glenn) Underwood of Freeport and Regina (Charles S.) Lamm of Freeport .His brother, Fred (Connie) Eberle . His grandchildren; Megan (Nick Scudder) Eberle and Evan Wienand. Three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Dennis (Brenda) Heffner of Solen Springs, WI., Mike Heffner of East Bethel, MN., Cheryl (Bob) Sherman of St. Charles, IL, Hailey Heffner, and Keeley Sherman. He was preceded in death by his parents A funeral service for Mr. Eberle will be Saturday May 31, 2014, 10:30 A.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Visitation will be Friday May 30, 2014, 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for FHN Hospice.
