Theodore G Schoon

Theodore G. Schoon, 88, of Freeport and former resident of Forreston, died Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Parkview Health Center. He was born April 28, 1923 in Freeport, the son of Dr. Theodore G. Schoon and Margaret (Fellow) Schoon. He was a 1941 graduate of Forreston High School, and a 1945 graduate of University of Illinois College of Pharmacy. He was employed at Furst McNess of Freeport as Chief Chemist starting in 1945 until his retirement in 1988. Surviving him are cousins Sandra Sue Irwin, St. Paul, MN; Betty Schoon, Minneapolis, MN, Peggy (George) Christie, Mora, MN; Betty Koppes, Branson, MO; also Gerry Johnson. He is also survived by his special friend since childhood, Evelyn J. Wilken, formerly of Forreston and currently of Parkview Retirement Home. Also special friends Clarence Wilken, Kathy, Rick, Jenny and Josie Pasch of Forreston. His special interests included the education of Ogle County students. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, at 2:00 at Parkview All Purpose Room, with Funeral Service following at 3:00. Rev. Carole Andres and Rev. James Stralow will officiate.
