Thelma Raybon

Sister Thelma Raybon, 96, of Freeport, IL departed her life October 26, 2015 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Sister Raybon was born July 1, 1919 in Batesville, MS. She worked at Structo and then for Newell in Freeport from where she retired. She was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church where she ushered for many years until she got ill. Her hobbies were going fishing with her husband, and making quilts which she made for every grandchild. Her favorite times were spent with her husband and grandchildren. Thelma leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Alice Johnson; one son Melvin (Maxine) Smith; seven brothers David Brown of Memphis, TN; Jim (Sharon) Brown of Los Angeles, CA, Theo Brown Sr. of San Diego, CA, Johnny (Kimberly) Brown Sr. and Every (Glodine) Brown both of Blytheville, AR; five sisters Florine Pottor of Benton Harbor, MI, Laverne (Jessie) Warren of Oceola, AR, Joyce Moiltrue of Los Angeles, CA, and Joan (Raymond) House of Little Rock, AR; six grandchildren Shauna (Kevin) Macnamera of Marian, OH, Charles Ross and Thelma Ross both of Logansport, IN, Fred Ross of Marshalltown, IA, Brady Ross and Emma Coy of Freeport, IL; 21 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles "CP" Raybon, and her mother Arrena Brown. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday November 3, 2015 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Lyn Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Entombment will be in Oakland Mausoleum.
