Thea J. Wiseman

Thea J. Wiseman, 56, of Freeport, IL passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 in her home. She was born June 18, 1966 at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Great Lakes, IL to Richard ("Bud") and Norma (Lyon) Houpt. Thea was a member of the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and was baptized on June 15, 2013. Thea was a licensed cosmetologist and recently retired as a Journeyman plumber and pipefitter. She was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 23 of Rockford. Most of all, Thea enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her friends. She had a green thumb (for house plants) and enjoyed leaving treats on her back patio for the neighborhood animals. Thea is survived by her daughters Amber (Justin) Koertner and Cortney (Steve) Lambert; four grandchildren Landen and Lewis Koertner, Willow and Tillee Lambert; sisters Deb Gartner, Cynthia (Dean) Pfund and Brenda (Mark) Morson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday September 3, 2022 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Freeport. Following the memorial service a Celebration of Life will take place in Grand River Hall (101 S. Liberty) from 2:00-6:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in Thea's memory.
