Terry Lee Hoefle formally of Freeport Illinois passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by his loving family in Aldie, Virginia. Terry was a graduate of Freeport High School, Class of 1962. In High School Terry was a thespian, an athlete and a member of the choir. Memorable roles included the King in The King and I, the Tin Man in the Wizard of OZ, and Romeo in Romeo and Juliet. Terry became a successful salesman with employment at WPS in Wisconsin, Greenlee Tool in Rockford and Arizona, and Jakes Wire Rope and Rigging in Nevada before retiring in 2000. Terry married his high school sweetheart, Carole Gustafson where they embarked on a 58 year long journey together. This journey took them to Wisconsin, Rockford, Arizona, Nevada, back to Freeport and finally to Virginia. Terry has one daughter Meredith (Richard) Muller and four beautiful grandchildren; Scott Ryan, Jessica Mae, Katherine Carole, and Calvin George. Terry enjoyed being with family, fishing, woodworking, gardening, being outside and watching his grandkids sporting events. If you saw Terry in the store, you would always be greeted with a warm "hello" and conversation with a twinkle in his eye. Terry was exceptionally creative often making caritures of people or events. He is well known among his family and friends for his nebish character, as no card or note was complete without it. Terry is preceded in death by his parents; Bill and Shirley (Read) Hoefle, his in-laws Kenneth and Geraldine Gustafson, his eldest brother Thomas and his wife Gloria (Munda) Hoefle, nephew Brandon Hoefle, brother in-law James Gustafson and sister in-laws Martha (Bunchman) Gustafson, and Nancy Gustafson Patterson. Terry Leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Carole, their daughter Meredith and her family, and his brother Mike and sister in law Lynn (Henry) and his 11 nieces and nephews and 28 great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. Services for Terry will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 12, 2022 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the American Heart Association in Terry's memory.
