Terrance "Terry" McKee, 59, of Rockford, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at F.H.N. Memorial Hospital. Terry was born on October 23, 1955 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, the son of Marvin "Bud" and Marguerite (Herbst) McKee. Terry attended Freeport Schools before graduating form Pearl City High School in 1974. Terry was employed as a cement finisher in Rockford and also worked in the family business at Freeport Septic Service. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Rockford. Terry was a cancer survivor who enjoyed running, going for bike rides, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Green Bay Packer fan. Surviving are his mother, Marguerite McKee of Freeport, step-daughter, Amy Cason of Rockford; two brothers, Larry (Lori) McKee and Lindsay McKee both of Freeport; sister, Laurie Thomas of Cedarville; two grandchildren, Tyler and Maddie Cason. Also surviving are six nieces and nephews. Terry was preceded in death by his father, stillborn son, Nicholas Paul McKee; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at St. Thomas Catholic Aquinas Church. Rev. Kenneth Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be Monday 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. There will also be a visitation from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at St. Thomas on Tuesday. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
