Steven M. Collman

Steven M. Collman, 58 years old, of Shannon, IL passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Rockford Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born December 22, 1955 in German Valley, IL, the son of Willis and Norma (Peters) Collman and graduated from Forreston High School and Highland Community College. Steve owned and managed his own trucking business for many years. Steve was a member of Silver Creek Reformed Church. He took great pride and pleasure in his nieces' and nephews' education, religious, and sporting events as well as each's career activities. Steve was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed antique cars. Steve is survived by his siblings who include Janice (Jeff) Sibley (Barrington, IL), John (Dawn) Collman (German Valley, IL), Lowell Collman (Lakeville, MN) and Marlene Collman (Renee Lewis) of Roscoe, IL. Steve enjoyed his seven nieces and nephews including Ben Collman (Austin, TX), Hannah Collman (German Valley, IL), Abigail Sibley (Milwaukee, WI), Emily Sibley (Barrington, IL), Matthew and Molly Collman (Lakeville, MN) and Mitchell Collman (Rockford, IL). He was preceded in death by his parents and longtime companion, Judy Truckenmiller. Visitation will be 4 pm to 6 pm on Sunday, October 26, and from 10 to 10:45 am on Monday, October 27, at Silver Creek Reformed Church, 326 Bunker Hill Road, in German Valley, IL. Funeral services will be held at Silver Creek at 11 am on Monday, October 27. Burial will be in Silver Creek Reformed Church Cemetery.
