Steven "Abe" C. Ludwick

Steven "Abe" C. Ludwick, 69, of Freeport, passed away, Wednesday January 18, 2023 at FHN Memorial Hospital. Steven was born February 6, 1953 in Oregon, Illinois, the son of Jack and Ruth (Horton) Ludwick Sr. Mr. Ludwick served his country proudly in the US Army. Steve worked at Woods Equipment in Oregon for many years. He was a former member of the Polo VFW. Steven was well known as an all-around handyman. He enjoyed going to auctions. Surviving is daughter, Stephanie (Eric) Barton of Freeport; also surviving are Michael (Linda) Ludwick and Luann Ludwick; best friend and the love of his life, Elizabeth "Bess" Hoppe; two brothers, Tim (Cathy) Ludwick and Alan Ludwick; seven sisters, Kim Viano, Anita (Stan) Houpt, Frances Aumock, Virginia, Pat Klem, Georgia, Julie (Bernie) Steffa; grandchildren, Abby "Tinker", Dakota "Kotters" Kayden "Buddy" Alec, Dominick, Kirah, Brice, Fatima, and Leyna; bonus children, Charity (Brian) Miller, T.J., Jonathan (Dana), Andy, Aaron, Sarah, and Chasity; also surviving are his dogs, Mimi, Sophie, and JoJo. Steven was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Jack Jr. and Kenny; and four sisters, Jean, Lois, "Picky", and Mildred. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday January 23, 2023 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation noon until the time of service.
