Sidney Gene Clark

Sidney Gene Clark, 77, formerly of Freeport and Forreston, died Monday, October 6, 2014 at Alexian Brothers Hospice in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. Sidney was born on November 27, 1936 in Davis, South Dakota, the son of Charles B. and Pearl F. (Heller) Clark. Sidney was a United States Army Veteran. On December 8, 1962 Sidney married Sharon Seifert in Chicago. Sharon passed away on November 5, 2005. Sidney worked as an associate engineer for Illinois Bell for 30 years. He was an avid bicyclist and enjoyed watching and following athletic events. Surviving are son, Glen (Terri) Clark of Naperville, Il. two daughters, Christie Clark of Wisconsin and Amanda (Michael) Cavazos of Forreston; two brothers, Leslie Clark of Milford, Michigan and George (Nancy) Clark of Howell, Michigan; sister, Judith Clark (Jim Mullin) of Honolulu, Hawaii. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Allen Clark, Megan Dunn, and Timothy Dunn II, and one great-grandson, Drake Coad. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Phillip; three brothers, Raymond, Glen and Charles; and three sisters, Mae, Marice, and Florence. Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m. Friday October 10, 2014 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at Burke Tubbs.
