Shirley J. Janssen

Shirley J. Janssen, 81, of Freeport, IL passed away Sunday October 18, 2020 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born October 27, 1938 in Jo Daviess Township of Galena, Illinois to William and Marie (Bader) Reed. She was a 1956 graduate of Scales Mound High School. Shirley was employed at CVS as a cashier for over 40 years. She was a member of Freeport First Church of the Nazarene. Shirley volunteered at Voices bookstore and was a member of the National Extension Homemakers. She especially loved all types of animals. Surviving is her sister, Joyce (Ed Hoey) Long of Rockton, IL; special friend Raymond Krull; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and brother, William E. Reed. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday October 23, 2020 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
