DECATUR, IL – Shirley Ann Cardascio, 89, of Evergreen Senior Living in Decatur, IL, formerly of Winslow, Flora & Clay City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 19, 2025.
Shirley was born May 11, 1935 in Winslow, the daughter of Henry & Vera Babcock Jordan. She married Joseph Dean Cardascio on April 14, 1956 in Winslow. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2004.
Shirley was a homemaker. She was a former member of the Clay City United Methodist Church, Faith Lutheran Church in Flora, & the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Port Charlotte, FL. While living in Clay County, she enjoyed memberships in the Clay City Garden Club & the Clay County Home Extension. Shirley was also a proud member of the Daughters of Rebekah.
Survivors include one daughter, Cecelia Cardascio & partner Scott Monroe of Frisco, NC; two sons, Michael Cardascio of Goodlettesville, TN; & Joseph Cardascio & wife Mary of Decatur, IL; four grandchildren, Cody Cardascio of Hendersonville, NC; Alexander Cardascio & wife Heaven of Dalton City, IL; Chase Cardascio of Hendersonville, NC; & Abigail Cardascio of Decatur, IL; & four great-grandchildren, Jaisey, Theodore, Adalynne & Ford.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her father-in-law, Joseph Cardascio, her mother-in-law, Ilo E. Cardascio-Oros, & her sister & brother, Phyllis Hook & LaVerne Jordan.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 23, 2025, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A private burial service will be in Rock Lily Cemetery in Winslow.
