Shirley Ann Coffman, 77, of German Valley, IL, beloved wife of Ralph Coffman, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 27, 2017 at Serenity Hospice, Oregon, in the presence of her family. She was born on December 14, 1940 in Marshfield, WI, the daughter of Ralph and Laura (Zopfi) Bolen. After raising four children, Shirley turned her deep passion and talent for flower arranging into a 33-year career as a florist, first at the DeMeester Flower Shop in Freeport, IL, and then at her own business, Brush Creek Floral. Throughout her busy career, she designed flowers for hundreds of weddings and celebrations across the region. An active member of North Grove Evangelical Church, Shirley walked with the Lord daily and served Him faithfully. Ministering alongside her husband, she participated in women's jail ministry as a member of the Gideons International Auxiliary, and went on several overseas mission trips. She also was a longtime contributor to the Good News Club ministry for children and helped to establish the Forreston Food Pantry at the New Life Community Center. Along with her husband of 57 years, she is survived by her son, Tim (Vicky) Coffman of German Valley; and three daughters, Lori Coffman of Walworth, WI; Lisa (Robert) Hosack of Beaver, PA; and Julia Coffman of Washington D.C.; her devoted grandchildren Andrea (Nick) Schneiderman, Jacob (Sally Magill) Coffman, and Alexandra, Emma, and Margaret Hosack; her adoring great-grandchildren, Jaiden, Breelyn, and Brycen Schneiderman; and her brother Eugene Bolen of Byron, IL, and sister Delores Myers of Maui, HI. She will be missed deeply by her family and many friends. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at the Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 4, 2018 at North Grove Evangelical Church, with Pastor Tim Hotchkiss officiating. Family burial will be in Coffman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name. Contributions may be made, and condolences sent, at www.burketubbs.com.
