Sherry Lynne Siefken

Former Forreston and Freeport resident, Sherry Siefken, age 60, passed away May 15, 2017 in Peoria, AZ after a long battle with cancer. She was born December 31, 1956 in Freeport to Carl and Vivian (Thompson) Siefken. She graduated from Forreston High School and Highland Community College with a degree in Nursing. She loved hiking, fishing, gardening, horses, butterflies, and anything outdoors. She is survived by her partner and best friend for twenty years, Diane Crowe, her daughter Andrea (Brett) Summers, three grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, and Katelynne, brother Jerald (Kari) Siefken, sister Adele Holland, and two nieces, three nephews, and two great nieces. Sherry was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents Fritz and Reka Siefken, and Clarence and Alta Thompson. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and partner to us and we will miss her dearly, but we find comfort in knowing she is healed of all her illness and dancing in heaven. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday June 10, 2017 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
