Sherman F. Hodgson

Sherman F. Hodgson, 86, of Dakota, IL, died Thursday November 22, 2018 at FHN Memorial Hospital. He was born September 18, 1932 in Freeport, IL, the son of Clarence and Agnes (Judd) Hodgson. He married Marilyn Green October 7, 1955 in Rockton, IL. Sherman owned and operated Hodgson Electrical for many years. He served in the U.S Navy from 1951-1955. He was a member of Zion Church in Freeport, IL. He enjoyed building furniture and entertaining people. Sherman is survived by his wife, Marilyn Hodgson of Dakota, IL; two sons, Judd Hodgson of San Diego, CA and Darryl (Margaret) Hodgson of High Pointe, NC; daughter, Sharon Wilson of Encinitas, CA; four grandchildren, Joshua and Trisha Hodgson, and Ryan and Connor Wilson; and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Judd; and sister, Virginia. A memorial service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday November 24, 2018 at Zion Church, 4292 W. Stephenson Street Road, Freeport, IL, with Pastor Gardy Cronk officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded.
