Sharon R. Stauffer

Sharon R. Stauffer, 79, of Freeport, died Sunday December 10, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born March 14, 1938 in Dixon, IL, the daughter of John and Agnes (Burns) Wilson. She married William "Smokey" Stauffer November 15, 1958 in Freeport, IL. Sharon was a 1957 Aquin High School graduate. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She worked for General Casualties as an insurance adjuster for thirty years. Sharon is survived by her husband William "Smokey" Stauffer of Freeport, IL; daughter, Joann (Amiee Reitzner) Stauffer of St. Louis, MO; brother, John (Bonnie) Wilson of Highland Park, IL; sister, Mary Joan Kennedy of Naperville, IL; three grandchildren, Christine (Adam) Wiederholtz, Zachary Reitnzer, and Kaleigh Reitnzer; and two great-grandchildren, Dillon and Phenix Wiederholtz. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son William T. "Billy" Stauffer, Jr. A memorial mass will be 11:00 A.M. Friday December 15, 2017 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. Kenneth Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Burial of cremains will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Freeport.
