Scot J. DeWall, 50, of Mt. Morris, IL passed away Tuesday February 16, 2021 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. He was born September 15, 1970 in Rockford, IL to James and Elaine DeWall. Scot was an employee at McDonalds for over 18 years. He was a man of great faith and was a member of the Polo Church of the Brethren, while attending many other churches in the area too. The Special Olympics were especially important to Scot and he earned a gold medal in bocce ball at the Special Olympics in Seattle. Scot was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and all Polo sports. He loved spending time with kids, especially his nieces and nephews. Surviving Scot is his mother and father Elaine (Hale) Guyer of Oregon, IL, and James (Melodie) DeWall of Oregon, IL; sister Holli (Brian) Sanders of Shannon, IL; brother Brant (Colleen) Dambman of Simpsonville, SC; nieces and nephews Aubrey Sanders, Blake Sanders, Tucker Dambman, and Wade Dambman; and step-niece and nephew Christian and Taylor Sanders. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents. A visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 P.M. Sunday February 21, 2021 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday February 22, 2021 also at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Social distancing and masks will be required at the visitation and service. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established for the Special Olympics, Red Hots, and Polo Boosters. The family would like to extend their grattitude to Dr. Danny Isawi, Dr. Hanny Isawi, and Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL for their great care.
