Sarah Louise Hawthorn, 84, of Freeport, died Monday February 15, 2016 in her home. Sarah was born to Rev. Henry (Octavia Wilks) McClain. Sarah was employed by Honeywell for many years and a longtime member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Sarah leaves to cherish two sons, Marvin Hawthorn of Fort Worth, TX. and Craig Hawthorn of Freeport; thee grandsons, Keith George, Kory George, Ryan Hawthorn; one granddaughter, Chelsea Hawthorn; one great granddaughter, Melody George; siblings, Viola Anderson-Cole of Rockford, IL, Annie Myrtle Seawood of Indianapolis, IN., Henry (Geraldine) McClain Jr. of Rockford, Doris (Bill) Barnes of Reno, NV., Robert Milton (Kathy) McClain of Gulfport, MS, Velma Hayes of Rockford, Charles McClain (Joyce) of Broadview, Wilma Salter of Rockford, Elosie Brewer of Louisville. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, J.B. Hawthorn; daughter, Melody Hawthorn, her parents, two brothers, Earl McClain and Lester McClain; three sisters, Agnes Butts, Edna Gayden, Mildred Parks. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday February 20, 2016 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Rodney Hayes will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
