Sarah J. Ilgen

Sarah J. Ilgen, 76, of Freeport, formerly of Warren, died Sunday October 2, 2016 at the Monroe Clinic Hospital, Monroe, Wisconsin. Sarah was born December 27, 1939 in Jo Daviess County, the daughter of Emmitt and Alice (Daacon) Thoren. Sarah worked for Micro Switch, Atwood in Rockford, and Zekes County Store in Warren, IL. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Freeport, former member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Warren where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She did volunteer work at Crossroads Community Church and enjoyed crocheting in her free time. Surviving are three sons, Thomas (Cindy) Thoren of Blountville, TN., John (Jeanette) Ilgen of Waterloo, IA., and Glenn Ilgen of Freeport; daughter, Kathleen (Mike Binger) Ilgen of Lanark; brothers, Donald (Louella) Thoren of Massbach, IL; five grandchildren, Michael, Sherrie, Shawna, Tiffany, and Jeffrey; one great-granddaughter, Noela; also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Robert and John Huisinga. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday October 5, 2016 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Rosary service will be held at 4:30 p.m. There will also be a visitation Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at St. Mary's. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
