Sandra O. Nugent

Sandra O. Nugent, 79, of Freeport, died Thursday, August 30, 2018 in Presence St. Joseph Center. Sandra was born November 2, 1938 in Geneseo, Illinois, the daughter of Leslie and Dorothy (Paxton) Reed. She worked in sales for many years for K-Mart. Sandra was a huge Chicago Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks fan. She enjoyed working on word searches and was an avid stuffed bear collector. Her family was always first and foremost in her life. Surviving are her son, Charles R. "Chuck" (Tracy) Nugent of Freeport; two daughters, Vicki L.N. (Lester) Burch of Colfax, Indiana and Kimberly S. Winget-Nugent of Freeport; brother, Calvin Reed of Freeport; sister, Charlotte Nickerson of Virginia Beach, VA.; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Alicia) Thomas, Justin (Amy) Thomas, Dillan (Allie) Shaw, Colten Shaw, Jason (Janelle) Nelson. Elizabeth Nelson, Samantha and Haley Nugent, and Brock Winget; and nine great-grandchildren, Brinklei, Bekett, Preston, Paige, Aniyah, Mila, Braxton, Ryan, and Adelyn Rae Sandra was preceded in by her parents, husband, two brothers, Richard and Donald; and her grandson, Cody. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday September 2, 2018 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Thomson will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service.
