Sandra D. Keeney

Sandra 'Sandy" D. Keeney, 70, of Freeport, died Tuesday October 27, 2015 in her home. She was born July 21, 1945 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Paul and Jennie (Fransen) Keep. She married Gerald "Jerry" L. Keeney November 30, 1959 in Mount Morris, IL; he died June 29, 2011. Sandra worked for Micro Switch for over twenty years. She was a member of the Freeport Moose Lodge. Sandy was born into a large family and believed family should always come first. She dedicated her entire life to raising her children, grandchildren and later great grandchildren. She was strong woman who always had a common sense solution for any problem and was known to quietly help others in need. Sandy and Jerry spent many years camping and traveling throughout the USA. She would collect rocks from each state and enjoyed sharing stories of their travels. She was also an avid bowler, loved puzzles, cooking and trying new recipes and spent many hours outdoors enjoying her gardens. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the fortune to know her. Sandra is survived by her three sons Gerald "Jerry" L.(Tracee) Keeney Jr. of Lena, IL, Rick Keeney of Freeport, IL, and Brian Keeney of Freeport, IL; two daughters Leann (Greg Reed) Stahl of Freeport, IL and Carrie (Guy) Livingston of Sylvania, OH; her brother Randy Keep of Lena, IL; three sisters Katherine Reed of Cedarville, IL, Shirley Jones of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Judy Stone of Freeport, IL; fourteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four brothers Paul, Fred, Cliff, and Don. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 31, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. Bill Blomberg officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport.
