Sally J. Kahler

Sally J. Kahler, 82, of Freeport, IL passed away Thursday August 11, 2022 in her home, surrounded by her family. She was born November 5, 1939 in Freeport, IL​. Parents Clifford Sr. and Faye (Gillenwaters) Lang. Sally managed the FHN gift shop for many years. She also volunteered for FHN Hospice. Sally had a strong faith and was a member of Van Brocklin-Florence UMC. Her hobbies included arts, crafts, floral arrangements, gardening and ​was a "master at Skip-Bo". Most of all, Sally loved her family and would do anything for them. She is survived by her son Billy (Sarah) Shroyer of Middleton, WI; three daughters Teresa Frakes of Rockford, IL, Holly (John) Calcaterra of Freeport, IL and Reen (Arik) Toepfer of Freeport, IL; four brothers, Jimmy (Margaret) Lang of ​Bossier City, LA, Lyle (Linda) Lang of Fennimore, WI, Clifford (Sharon) Lang of Freeport, IL and Jerry (​Judie) Lang of Bloomington, IL; nine grandchildren ​Cheyeanne Burnett, Debbie (Shay) Patterson, Torry (Matt) Fry, Savanna (Austin) Shadle, Brittnee (Craig) Thomas, ​Chasitee (Gio) Offard, Mitchell Shroyer, Mira Shroyer and Jake Zielke; and ​eleven great-grandchildren ​Tija, Tigan, Kennedy, Gracie, Devon, Cole, Adelena, Axel, Ayden, P.J. and Piper. Preceding Sally in death is her parents. A celebration of life will be held Sunday August 14, 2022 at The Freeport Club with Rev. Dawn Barr officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. A memorial has been established in Sally's memory.
