Ruth V. Nevenhoven

Ruth V. Nevenhoven, 90, formerly of Forreston and Polo, died Thursday June 12, 2014 at the Stephenson Nursing Center, Freeport. Ruth was born January 9, 1924 in Ogle County, the daughter of Fred and Hattie (Locker) Duncan. Ruth married Roy R. Nevenhoven on August 7, 1943 in Ogle County. Mr. Nevenhoven died on May 2, 2010. Ruth attended Forreston Grove Church. She was a very caring person. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the greatest joy of her life. Surviving are son, Larry (Carol) Nevenhoven of Temecula, CA. daughter, Linda (Dennis) Coleman of Freeport, brother, Donald (Betty) Duncan of Mt. Morris; five grandchildren, Tim (Laurie Lee) Coleman, Todd Coleman, Scott (Liza) Nevenhoven, Tyler (Julie) Coleman, and Susan Nevenhoven; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are special friends Georgia Herman and Barbara Nevenhoven and many others friends she made while at the Stephenson Nursing Center. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Wilma; and one brother, Robert. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday June 16, 2014 at Forreston Grove Church. Pastor Jeremy Cheezum Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. There will also be a visitation Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
