Ruth Cardoso

Ruth Cardoso, age 84, of Freeport passed away Friday, March 29,2019 at Stephenson Nursing Center surrounded by family. Ruth was born on August 5,1934 in Blue Island, IL. She was the 7th of 15 children born to Elvera and Eugeenio Alvarez. Ruth was preceeded in death by her husband Jose Cardoso; parents, Elvera and Eugeenio; and brother's, Sam, Eugene and Elias Alvarez. Ruth was a loving mother to her two sons Joseph and Clyde Cardoso. She was a loving grandmother and great grandmother to Joseph Cardoso III (Declan) Joanie Olson (Braydon and Makayla) Alix Kavran(Aria), Austyn Cardoso, Lisa Olson(Jane and Victor) Kimberly Cardoso and Katie Cardoso Olivia) Ruth fought a hard battle with Alzheimer's disease and we hope as a family that any donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer's associated for future research.
