Ruth A. Midthun

Ruth A. Midthun, 64, of Freeport, died Saturday at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. Ruth was born on November 10, 1946 in Freeport , the daughter of William 'Bill' and Avril (Martin) Witt. She was a 1964 graduate of Freeport High School. Ruth married Robert F. Midthun in Freeport. Robert passed away on December 21, 2010. Ruth worked for Met Life Insurance, Deininger Floral Shop and Lee Grocery Store. She was a supporter of the Humane Society, she looked forward to her nights out with her sister-in-laws and enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. Ruth and Robert loved doing everything together they were best friends. Robert died on the first day of Winter and Ruth died on the last day of the Winter. Survivors include; her parents; William 'Bill' and Avril Witt of Freeport, one son Anthony (Susan) Midthun of Waterford, Wisconsin, three daughters; Lorrie (Shane) Heeren of Shannon, Heidi Miller of Stockton and Dani (Joe) Glasgow of Freeport, 13 grandchildren; Kyle, Taylor, and Drake Heeren, Derrick, Ben, Meagan, and McKayla Brinkmeier, Peyton, Jakob , and Noah Midthun, Raelyn, Jace, and Cadeyn Glasgow , one great-grandchild Dustin Brinkmeier, also surviving are four sister-in-laws; Martha 'Dolly Fissell of Freeport, Carol Coy of Freeport, Leona Wolfe of Cedarville and Alice Midthun of Freeport and Ruth'™s dog Annie. She was preceded in death by her husband and her step daughter Bobbie. Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be Friday 11:00 A.M. in Burke Tubbs Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
