Russell Leroy Roinestad

Russell LeRoy Roinestad, 72, of Freeport died Tuesday, September 17. He was born July 29, 1941 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin the son of Harold S. and Anna E. ( Barneson) Roinestad. He married Judy Ryan on October 2, 1965 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Russell worked as a Welder and Millright. Russell was a avid car modeler, and Green Bay Packer fan. He was a member of the Illinois Modelers Club and Northern Illinois Tabletop Cruisers. Russell was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, He did volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity, Stephen's Minister and served as a volunteer Fireman. Russell was a Boy Scout leader, he belonged to The Order of The Arrow. Mr. Roinestad is survived by his wife, one son; Richard L. Roinestad of Willmar, Minnesota. His daughter; Tracy (James) Clay of Freeport. Three grandchildren; Chancellor, Katherina and Kristiana Clay. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert. A memorial service for Mr. Roinestad will be Saturday 11:00 A.m., September 28 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Freeport. Rev. Richard "Ros" Schultz and Rev. Dr. Willis Schwichtenberg will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Immanuel Lutheran School Library. Burial of cremains will be in Lake View Cemetery, Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
