Russell L. Pudwill

Russell Pudwill, 80, of Freeport, died Wednesday, February 13, 2013. He was born October 14, 1932 in Avon, South Dakota to Herbert and Henrietta (Johnson) Pudwill. Russ served with the United States Army during the Korean conflict. On June 23, 1955 he married Maureen O'™Grady in Tyndall, S.D. Maureen died February 16, 1990. Russ worked for Micro Switch for 33 years. During this time he also worked for Drake family farms. Surviving are two daughters; Carol (Chris) Burfiendt and Jeanne (Greg) Guderyon; two sons; David Pudwill and Ron (Sally)Pudwill all of Freeport; 10 grandchildren; Amy (Joe) Shores, Emilee Guderyon, Laura Guderyon, Adam Pudwill, Jessica Pudwill, Josh (Stacy) Pudwill, Jeremy (Anne) Pudwill, Jon (Bridgette) Pudwill, Becky (Aaron) Coon, Julie (Travis Howarth) Russell; seven great grandchildren; Rebecca Shores, Jayse Pudwill, Jaymeson Pudwill, Reese Coon, Ryan Coon, Peyton Carpenter and Alayna Howarth; special friend, Doty Schelm; two brothers Burnell (Marie) Pudwill and Verlyn 'Red' (Ellen) Pudwill. He was preceded in death by his wife Maureen, parents and brother, Donald. He leaves behind several brother in laws, sister in law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be Monday, February 18, 2013 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Rev. John Hollis will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 -4:00 p.m. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with a family service at 4:00 P.M. . In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.
