Mother Ruby Mae Jordan was born August 30, 1940 in Lyons Mississippi to the late Mary Bell & Booker T. Brown Sr. To this union, she was the eldest of 6 siblings. She was married May 7, 1955 to the late Willie B. Jordan Sr. Born to this union were 8 children. Mother Ruby Jordan attended Mt. Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, IL, where she was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age. She attended John Marshall High school in Chicago, IL. She retired from an extensive career with the Chicago Board of education in 1989 as a Teacher Aid. She was also employed at Cam-West after school program, where she enriched the lives of many children. She remained active, impacting the lives of children in the Lawndale community. She lived on the west side of Chicago for 26 years. Mother Ruby Jordan relocated to Freeport, IL in 2000. She became a member of True Vine Worship Center, where she served as an active Church Member. She later moved her membership to Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, where she served on the mother board. She leaves to cherish in loving memory six children, Diane Williams, Willie (Bernadette) Jordan Jr., Annette Estes, Lola (Sedrick) Sims, Steven (Teresa) Jordan and Stephen (Dominique) Jordan; two sisters Sophronia (James) Barber and Addie Wills; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-grand children; one sister-in-law Lutie Brown; and many many god children. Preceding her in death were her parents, Marybell & Booker T. Brown Sr.; two daughters Maryanne Jordan and Louise Jordan; her husband Willie B. Jordan Sr.; three siblings Booker T. Brown, Percy Brown and Lois (R.J.) Steele; two nieces April Brown & Nicole Brown; one great niece Alisia Dieudonne; two son in-laws John Estes & Elvert Williams Jr. Mother Ruby Jordan possessed a sweet spirit and was loved dearly by her family and friends. She will be missed, but she will never be forgotten. Her memory will always be alive in our hearts. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 19, 2016 at Faith Temple Church of God in Christ with Rev. Lynn Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
