Rose M. Boomgarden, 83, of Freeport, died Thursday October 13, 2016 at the Lena Living Center. Rose was born on January 27, 1933 in Darlington, Wisconsin, the daughter of Alfred and Josephine (Ruggli) Beyeler. Rose married Marlynn Boomgarden on February 9, 1952. Mr. Boomgarden passed away on May 29, 2012. Rose worked 36 years for Micro Switch- Honeywell retiring in 1988. Rose was a member of First Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed making clothes for her children and herself. She also had a talent for drawing. Rose enjoyed traveling with her family on vacations, doing puzzles with her husband, arranging flowers, and baking. She is survived by three daughters, Ramona (David) Schultz of Freeport, Marlene Stewart of Cedarville, and Anita (Ralf) Hottmann of Cedarville; son, Marlynn R. Boomgarden of Palm Harbor, Florida; nine grandchildren, Alan Schultz, Jennifer Tanik, Tammy (Jeff) Kromm, Theresa Stewart, Robert (Kristie) Stewart Jr., Aaron Hottmann, Alicia Hottmann, Austin (Saavik) Boomgarden, and Ashtin (Constantine) Passaris. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marlynn Boomgarden; brother, Roland Beyeler; half-sister, Helen Boelter; and son-in-law, Robert Stewart. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday October 17, 2016 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Pastor Don Jamerson will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. also at Burke Tubbs. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in her memory.
